Obituary for Wayne Webster Kramer
Wayne Webster Kramer, of Pottsville and Reading, Pennsylvania, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at the age of 82.

Wayne was born October 29, 1935 in Pottsville. He was a graduate of Pottsville High School and served in the US Air Force before settling in Reading where he lived for the majority of his life.

Wayne was a man of great integrity and limitless strength of character. His intellectual pursuits were many, including literary favorites James Joyce, William Shakespeare and John Irving. He was an accomplished artist having painted many works that have been on display for decades. An avid sports fan, Wayne played baseball while growing up in Pottsville and thoroughly enjoyed his favorite teams, the Eagles, Phillies and Sixers.

Evident to all who knew him well, Wayne was a devoted husband and world-class father. He was always present for his family and willing to help them with any challenges they would encounter. He was very appreciative of the friends and kind individuals he met along the way and enjoyed spending time with each of them. He had a special bond with his dog, Tug, with whom he walked hundreds of miles on the streets of northeast Reading during the 80’s and 90’s.

Wayne was employed primarily at Rockwell International in Reading and retired from Stanley Flagg in Stowe.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers: George Kramer, Charles Kramer, and Joseph Kramer; and sisters: Ethel Troutman, Mary Ellen Gaul, Hazel Blacker and Dorothy (Dotty) Sheesley.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Shay); son, John, husband of Rebecca; and grandson, Jackson.

A visitation with the family will be on Monday, October 29th from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home,Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville.

Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
