Obituary for Virginia Ejiofor
Virginia Ejiofor, 88, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away on Monday, April 21st at Rest Haven Nursing Home. Born in Nigeria on September 25, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Dora (Okolo) and Joseph Okotcha. She was a high school graduate and completed a nursing program. Virginia was the President of her Church Organization in Nigeria before she came to the United States in 1991. Virginia attended St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to caring for her family. Virginia enjoyed traveling with her family and she received an award for outstanding service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas S. Ejiofor; sons: Patrick, Augustine, Romanos and Peter; and brothers, Sylvester and Bernard Okotcha and Umeadi Nwokolo. Virginia is survived by four daughters, Assumpta Allanah, wife of Anthony, of Pottsville; Felicia Uwajeh, wife of Jerry, of Houston, TX; Romania Juwah, wife of Cyril, of Nigeria; Agatha Onwundinjo, wife of Andrew, of Reading; two sons Louis Ejiofor, of Colton, CA; Paul Ejiofor, husband of Arieta, of Houston, TX; 15 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 3rd at 7:00 p.m. at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc, 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, PA. A viewing will be held from 6:00 until the time of service in the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville at the convenience of the family.
