Obituary for Victoria O'Brien
Victoria (Lipinsky) O’Brien, 90, of Pottsville, passed away on March 31.
To her family and friends she was known as Dixie, born in Minersville to the late Joseph and Lottie (Jablonski) Lipinsky, who both immigrated from Poland before the outbreak of WW1.
She was a graduate of Minersville High School and a member of Saint Patrick’s Church in Pottsville. She often volunteered her time to numerous church activities including Saint Stanislaus Church where she was married.
Victoria was known for making fabulous deserts especially her pies which she liked to share with everyone. She also shared many of the items that she crocheted. Victoria would spend hours with her husband Joseph on their porch taking in all of nature especially those red cardinals that she loved.
While raising three children with her husband Joseph, Victoria also worked at Van Heusen, Brok Sel, and Charlie’s Pizza and Sub shop in Pottsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph to whom she was married to for 64 years and whom recently passed away two weeks ago, her daughter, Ann Marie Barbur; brothers, Stanley, Bolie, Chester, Francis, Anthony, Joseph, Alex and sisters Jennie Michalski and Cecilia Weiss.
Victoria is survived by son, William, husband of Madalin, of Reading; daughter, Janet O’Brien, of Long Island, NY; grandchildren: Eric Kehl, Diamond Barbur, and Callista O’Brien.
A Memorial service will be held on April 30, at 12:00 p.m. noon, at the Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville. A visitation with the family will be held at 10:00 a.m.
until the time of service.
