Obituary for Theresa T. Sencak
Theresa T. "Tess" Sencak, 87, of Pottsville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday morning.

Born in Pottsville, on August 1, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Kathryn (Cantwell) and
Harry Bartholomew.

Tess was a 1947 graduate of Pottsville High School and a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Pottsville, where she belonged to the Catholic Women's Union.

She was very proud of her position as minority inspector for the Schuylkill County Election Board. She belonged to Ladies of Charity and R.S.V.P, Retired Sr. Volunteer Program, and volunteered at Good Samaritan Hospital for over 20 years.

Tess was a homemaker her entire life. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and knitting in her spare time.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Sencak Jr, in May 1982 and to whom she was married for 32 years; infant girl; brothers: James, George, Charles, Harold, Paul, and Carl; and sister, Kathryn.

Theresa is survived by two daughters, Anne P. McFarren, wife of Paul , of Upper Saddle River, NJ;
Susan T. Solomon, wife of Steve, of Palm Island, FL; a son, John L. Sencak, husband of Melissa, of Pittsburgh, PA; three sisters, Frances, widow of Charles Lorenz, of Pottsville; Janet, widow of Charles Whitaker, of Norristown; and Rita, widow of John Foley, of Pottsville; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on February 4th at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 913 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, with Rev. David J. Loeper officiating.

A viewing will be held on Friday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:30 until the procession will leave for church at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville.

Interment will follow in St. John #2 Cemetery, Pottsville.
