Obituary for Sylvan L. Lehrman
Sylvan L. Lehrman, 85, of Pottsville, passed away on Thursday evening at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.
Born in Ashland on November 29, 1935, he was the son of the late Harry and Mary (Silverman) Lehrman.
He was a graduate of Frackville High School and Brooklyn College of Pharmacy, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree.
Sylvan proudly served his country during peacetime in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Oheb Zedeck Synagogue.
Sylvan was a member of the Schuylkill County Pharmacist Association and the National Association of Chain Drug Stores, where he served on the board.
He owned and operated the family business, R X D Pharmacy in Pottsville, Minersville, and Shenandoah from 1977 until his retirement in 2008.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie J. (Neiman) on May 4, 2019 and to whom he was married 59 years; daughter, Beth, in 2013; and sister, Arlene.
Sylvan is survived by a son, Craig Lehrman, husband of Dana, of North Wales, PA; and grandchildren: Sam, Max, and Ava.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Interment will take place in Tifereth Israel Cemetery, Mount Carmel.
