Obituary for Patricia Ann Coombe Hanich
Patricia Ann n̩e Coombe Hanich passed away peacefully on Sunday evening at York Terrace in Pottsville. Born in Long Branch, New Jersey on June 28, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Helen n̩e Schumacher Meikrantz and R. Victor Coombe. She attended Schuylkill Haven Area Schools and graduated in 1951. Her early career included working for the Treasury Department in Harrisburg before marrying William "Billy" Clyde Hanich in 1954. They had 58 wonderful years of marriage before his death, September 11, 2012. Pat was happy to be a homemaker but was also employed by the Walk-In Shoe Company for ten years and also as a lunch aide at South Ward Elementary School, Schuylkill Haven, where they lived. Shortly after the birth of their daughter, Pat and Billy found a love for camping which they enjoyed for many years. Patricia is survived by a daughter, Helene Agne of Danville and her husband Ernest "Ernie" of whom Pat was quite fond. A memorial service celebrating the lives of both Pat and Billy will be held on Wednesday, April 16th at 7:00 p.m. at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantango Street, Pottsville, PA. A visitation with the family will be held at 6:00 p.m. until the time of service. Pastor David Rowe of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, where Pat and Billy were members, will be officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. The family requests memorial contributions in Patricia's name be sent to: Hillside SPCA, Hillside Rd., Pottsville, PA 17901.
