Obituary for Olimbia "Lee" Spleen
Olimbia "Lee" Spleen, 94, of Pottsville, passed away on Saturday evening in Hometown Nursing and Rehab Center, Tamaqua.

Born in Pottsville, on September 22, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Rosaria and Emidio Piccioni.

Olimbia was a graduate of Pottsville High School, where she was an outstanding gymnast.

She was a member of St. Patrick R.C.C. and the former St. Joseph R.C.C. and of the Red Hat Club.

Olimbia was a sewing machine operator at Boltz Knitting Mills for over 20 years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel J. Spleen on December 8,1997, and to whom she was married 51 years; brothers: Joseph, Nazerene "Nat", Mark, Norman "Gitch", Victor "Bucks"; sisters: Mary Carusella, Anna Antonucci, Gloria Visnefsky.

Olimbia is survived by five sons: Samuel J. Spleen, of Las Vegas, NV; Joseph B. Spleen, widower of Kodie, of Las Vegas, NV; Michael A. Spleen and wife, Laura Castagnola-Spleen, of Tamaqua; David F. Spleen; and James C. Spleen, of Calabasas, CA; 3 grandchildren: Michael, Sheria, companion of Brady Shephard, and Angela, wife of Kevin Teter; great grandchild: Preston Kodie Shephard; brother: Remo Piccioni, of Pottsville; and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 15th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick R.C.C., 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville with Msg. O'Connor and Father Connolly as con-celebrant. A visitation with the family will be held at 10:00 a.m. until the procession will leave for church at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville.

Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Pottsville.
