Michael Postick, 85, of Pottsville, passed away on Monday evening, December 19th, at home with his family by his side.
Born in Buck Run, on September 15, 1937, he was a son of the late Michael and Anna (Gober) Postick.
He was the husband of Rita M. (Marcavage) Postick, to whom he was married 61 years.
Michael was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, and a member of their Senior Citizens Group.
He was a graduate of Cass Township High School, Class of 1955 and Stevens College, Class of 1958.
Michael was a veteran of the PA National Guard from 1959 to 1965 and a lifetime member of Yorkville Hose Co. #1 and a member of P.A.R.S.E.
He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, retiring in 1992, and last employed as a project manager for Quandel Construction of Minersville. He also retired in 2004 from the Schuylkill County Courthouse, serving as Chief Assessor in the Assessment Office.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his sisters: Irene Stock and Ann Bevan.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are sons: Michael A. Postick, husband of Rosemary, of Fountain Springs, PA, and Mark J. Postick, of Pottsville; a daughter, Karen R. Chan, M.D., wife of Peter, of Morristown, NJ;
grandchildren: Peter and Catherine Chan, of Morristown, NJ; nephew, Barry Stock and niece, Darlene Young; and his beloved cat, Molly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 23rd, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, with Father Phil Rodgers officiating.
A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville and on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the procession will leave for church.
Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Saint Clair.
