Obituary for Margaret "Marge" M. Butler
Margaret M. "Marge" Butler, 89, of Pottsville and formerly of Tremont, passed away on Monday evening in Manor Care, Pottsville.
Born in Phoenix Park, on January 4, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Jennie (Pugh) and John Purks.
She was a graduate of Llewlyn High School and a homemaker her entire life. Marge enjoyed crocheting and her many dogs and cats throughout the years.
Marge was a member of St. Patrick R.C.C., Pottsville and the former Mary Queen of Peace.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Butler Sr., on March 25, 1996, and to whom she was married 50 years; sons: Clarence and Steven; sisters: Mary Wolf, Geraldine Vernagallo, Louise Wargo, and Millie Purks; brothers: John, David, and Clarence Purks.
Margaret is survived by a daughter, Eileen R. Romberger, widow of James, of Gratz,;
two sons: William G. Butler Jr., husband of Cookie, of Rogersville, TN; Thomas P. Butler, husband of Carey, of Lake Wynonah; grandchildren: Jodi, Jade and James R. Romberger Jr., Christopher and Savannah Butler, Gena Smith, Lonnie Emore, Nicholas and Natalie Butler; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Donetta Grohosky and a brother, Ronald Purks, both of Camp Hill, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
Interment services in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville will be announced at a later date.
The family request contributions in Marge's memory be sent to Hillside SPCA, Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901.
