Obituary for Magdalene P. Maskerines
Magdalene P. Maskerines, 77, of Pottsville, passed away on Monday afternoon at Schuylkill Center with her family by her side.

Born in Pottsville, on April 5, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Leroy and Mary (Benedict) Wetzel.

She attended Nativity BVM.

Magdalene was a member of the former Mary Queen of Peace and now at St. John the Baptist Church, Pottsville, where she was a very active and faithful volunteer with the St. John Guild.

She worked as a housekeeper at Good Samaritan Hospital for 45 years retiring in 2006.

Magdalene most enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers: William, Joseph, and Michael; and sisters: Bernice Sabados and Theresa Moser.

Magdalene is survived by her husband, Fred Maskerines, and to whom she was married 60 years;
three daughters, Debra Hrichak, wife of Michael, of Minersville; Diane Naradko, wife of Robert, of Saint Clair; Donna, wife of Kevin Hessler, of Kenhorst; grandchildren: Charles, Peter, Vanessa, Tiffany, Holly, Christopher, and Kevin; 10 great granchildren; and brothers: James, husband of Sadie; Francis; and Robert; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 5th at 11:00 a.m. at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, with Deacon Larry Lonergan officiating. A viewing will be held on Friday from 9:00 a.m.-until time of service in the funeral home.

The family request contributions in Magdalene's memory be sent to: Alzheimer's Foundation of America 322 Eighth Avenue, 16th Floor New York, NY 10001, NY 10001.

Interment will follow in Queen of the Universe Cemetery, Saint Clair.
