Obituary for Liliana L. Doublestein
Liliana L. Doublestein, 93, of Pottsville, passed away on Friday evening at Schuylkill
Center, Pottsville, with her loving daughter by her side.
Born in Arnot's Addition, on March 29, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Francizek and Marie (Shandor) Longo.
She was a graduate of Pottsville High School, class of 1945. She attended the Ford School
of Business and the program Go60 at Penn State University for seniors.
Liliana was a member of Oheb Zedeck Congregation, where she was a former member and first woman president of the congregation. She was also a member and president of the Oheb Zedeck Sisterhood as well as of Oheb Zedeck chapter of Hadassah.
She enjoyed catering and preparing baked goods and Challah bread. Liliana even
created a 6 foot cake for a fundraiser for the Hadassah Hospital in Israel.
Liliana was employed as an office manager for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
for the EPA Department of Mines for over 20 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman J. Doublestein,
who passed away in 1979.
Liliana is survived by a daughter, KimAlyse Popkave, and grandson, Chaim I. Popkave,
both of Pottsville.
Services are private at the convenience of family .
Interment will take place in Oheb Zedeck Cemetery.
