Obituary for Joseph E. Buehler Jr.
Joseph E. Buehler, Jr., 74, of Pottsville passed away Tuesday morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill E. Norwegian St., Pottsville.

Born in Pottsville, on October 1, 1942, he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Frances A. (Hummel) Buehler.

He was a 1960 graduate of PAHS, where he played football, baseball, and was a
TKD member.

Joe worked at Extrudo, Exxon, and Tredegar, retiring in 2002.

He was a life member of the Yorkville Hose and a charter member of the Crimson Tide Football Club. He also was very proud and enjoyed attending Lebanon Valley College football games, where his son, Joe III, is head coach.

Joe was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers, and also loved spending time in Florida and Stone Harbor.

One of Joe's favorite past-times was golfing with a great group of friends, but it was his family that brought him the most joy.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by sisters: Joan Botto and Jane Reinmiller; mother-in-law Mary Kopinetz, and step-son, Denny Ochs.

Joe is survived by his wife, Louise (Kopinetz) Buehler, to whom he was married 42 years; son, Joseph E. III, husband of Jennifer, of Mechanicsburg; step daughter, Gwen Martz, wife of William, of Pottsville; sisters: Janet Popowich, wife of Robert, of Naples, FL; Joyce Welch, wife of Scott, of Williamsport; and Julie Rescorla, wife of Robert, of Pottsville; grandchildren: McKenna and Joseph E. Buehler IV , Josh and Alex Martz,; aunt and uncle, Edward and Nellie Hummel; brother-in-law, Michael Kopinetz; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville with Deacon Larry Lonergan officiating. A visitation with the family will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in St. John #2 Cemetery, Pottsville.
