Obituary for James L. Rose, Jr.
James L. Rose, Jr., 86, of Pottsville, passed away on August 5th in St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center, Reading, PA. Born in Pottsville, on March 21, 1929, he was the son of the late James L. and Helen D. (Weiss) Rose, Sr. He was a graduate of Pottsville High School. Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. ��He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Pottsville. Jim worked at Alcoa for 22 years, retiring in 2001 and in his earlier years at the family business at Rose's Corner Store with his father. Since his retirement Jim spent his time taking care of the love of his life, his wife, Dolores. He enjoyed dancing and going out to dinner. He was a member of the Pulaski Masonic Lodge 216, where he achieved 32 degree, and the Shriners of Bloomsburg. He was a former member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon. In additon to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joann Hamilton and niece, Robin Hochgertel. Jim is survived by his wife, Dolores M. (Miscavage) to whom he was married for 63 years; daughter, Pam Rose and son, James L. Rose III, both of Pottsville. ��Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 11th at 11:00 a.m. at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville with the Rev. Craig D. Zimmerman. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. The family request contributions in Jim's name be sent to: Hillside SPCA, "The Joe Fund", P.O.
