Obituary for Elizabeth M. Deegan
Elizabeth Magdalen Deegan, 93, of Hollywood, CA and formerly of Pottsville passed away on Monday afternoon in her Hollywood residence. Born in St. Clair, on October 26, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Catherine A. (Wellner) and Harry T. Kleinlein. She was a 1937 graduate of St. Clair High School and Empire Beauty College, where she worked as a beautician 17 years. Elizabeth was a member of the Lionette Club, St. Clair. In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Claire Francis "Bud" Deegan in 1965 and to whom she was married for 10 years; sister, Kay Bayer and brother, Robert Kleinlein. Elizabeth is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Clare Deegan, of Thousand Oaks, CA; grandson, Byron Deegan, of Hollywood, CA, with whom she last resided; and niece, Susan Sirbak, of Macungie and nephew, Chris Bayer, of Schnecksville; and several grand nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 18th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick R.C.C., 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville. A viewing will be held at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville from 9:00 a.m. until the procession will leave for the church.
