Obituary for Elizabeth A. Ginther
Elizabeth A. Ginther, 98, of Holland, PA and formerly of Pottsville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 10th, at Brookdale Northampton, Richboro, PA.

Born in Pottsville, PA on April 2, 1919, she was a daughter of the late John M. and Elizabeth (Post) Klein.

She was a 1937 graduate of Pottsville High School. Betty grew up and lived most of her life in Pottsville until moving to Alexandria, Virginia with her family in 1961. She also resided in Philadelphia for many years before moving to Holland, PA in 1997.

Betty was a member of St. Bede the Venerable Church and formerly of St. John the Baptist Church, Pottsville, until she moved out of the area. She was a caring and loving person who relied on her strong faith in God. Betty was a volunteer at Franford Torresdale Hospital in Philadelphia for over 20 years. She loved to read and enjoyed traveling. Mostly she enjoyed the simple things in life like visiting with family and friends. She always loved coming "home" to Pottsville. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Ginther, on January 8, 1972 and to whom she was married 25 years; and two sisters: Sister M. Edyth Klein and Marie E. Koppenhaver; and brothers: George M. Klein and Alfons J. Klein.

Betty is survived by two daughters, Shirley G., wife of the late Don Blackburn, of Richboro, PA; Judith J. Ginther, of Holland, PA; grandchildren: Robert Blackburn, husband of Kimmy, of Feasterville, PA, and Kelly Giordano, wife of Mike, of Churchville, PA; great grandchildren: Richie, Bridget, Michael, and Megan; and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 23rd at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at St. John the Baptist Church, 913 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, with Rev. David J. Loeper officiating.


Interment with will follow in St. John #2 Cemetery, Pottsville.
