Obituary for David N. Keefer
David N. Keefer, 82, of Pottsville, passed away peacefully on Thursday in Rest Haven Nursing Home, Schuylkill Haven. Born in Catawissia, PA on May 21, 1933 he was the son of the late Marvin W. and Louise (Ash) Keefer. ��He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. David worked as a welder at Dana Parish Corporation Reading, for 31 years and retired in 1998. ��He enjoyed spending his time going on bus trips with Trinity Lutheran Church and visiting casinos. ��In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Adele T. Keefer in 1998. David is also survived by a sister, Carol Sterner, of Heckscherville; two brothers, Robert Keefer, of Hellertown, PA; Sheldon Keefer, of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. �� Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 10th at 11:30 a.m. at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, with Pastor Chris Rothharpt officiating. A viewing will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. �� Interment will be private in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. The family requests contributions in David's memory be sent to Hillside SPCA, Hillside Rd, Pottsville, PA 17901 or Trinity Lutheran Church, 3rd & Arch Sts., Pottsville, PA 17901.
