Obituary for Colette J. Hummel
Colette J. Hummel, 84, of Pottsville, passed away on Thursday evening in her residence with her family by her side. Born in Minersville, on March 6, 1930, she was a daughter of Viola (Purcell) and John Dando. She was a 1949 graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School and a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Colette was as a homemaker her entire life and enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers: John, Harry, and Robert Dando and granddaughter, Megan. She is survived by her husband, Robert Hummel, to whom she was married 61 years; two daughters, Gail M., wife of David Boone, of Cincinnati, OH and Karen A. Williams, of Schuylkill Haven; grandchildren: Amy Pugh, wife of Matthew, of St. Clair; Matthew, Michelle, Brian, and Kevin Boone; several nieces and nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville. A viewing will be held at 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. The family request contributions in Colette's memory be sent to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17110.
