Obituary for Catherine M. Schock
Catherine M. Schock (nee Pitel), 97, formerly of Pottsville, passed away on June 26th at Kemper House, of Highland Heights, OH.
Born in Pottsville on September 12, 1919 , she was the daughter of the late Anna (Vlahuta) and Jon Pitel.
She retired as a factory worker at age 62.
Catherine was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who most enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed cooking.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death her husband, Clyde C. Schock, who passed away on November 19, 2001; sisters: Ann Orlowsky, Mary Swatner, Margaret Pfluger, and Magdalen O'Boyle; and brother, Joseph Pitel.
Catherine is survived by a son, Clyde J. , husband of Mary C. (Campion) Schock, of OH;
grandchildren: Brad M. Schock and Kelly A. (Schock) Mauceri; great grandchildren: Francesca Mauceri, Lucio Mauceri, and Abigaile Schock.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 5th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville. A viewing will be held at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc, 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville from 9:30 a.m. until the procession will leave for the church.
Interment will follow in St. John #2 Cemetery, Pottsville.
In lieu of flowers the family request contributions in Catherine's memory be sent to: Memory Care Fund, 10307 Detroit Ave., Suite 101, Cleveland 44102.
