Obituary for Angeline J. Reed
Angeline J. Reed, 93, of Lehighton, and formerly of Pottsville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon in Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton with her son by her side. Born in Pottsville, on November 17, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Guiseppina (Albo) and Pietro Joy. She was a member of St. Peter and Paul Church, Lehighton and the former St. Joseph R.C.C., Pottsville. Angela worked at various garment factories for 10 years and owned Angela's Dress Shop in Pottsville, retiring in 1983. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester H. Reed in 2000 and to whom she was married for 58 years; a daughter, Shirley Butcavage in 1998; grandson, Keith Butcavage; brothers: Tony, John, and Joseph Joy; sisters: Christy Joy, Rosella Albino, Mary Gerace, Connie Altiero, Josephine Fetterolf, and Lillian Walters. Angeline is survived by a son, Steven L., husband of Susan Reed, of Lehighton; grandchildren John Butcavage, of New Philadelphia and Christine Bates, of Georgia; 5 great grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at on Monday, January 26th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville. A viewing will be held on Monday at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville from 9:30 a.m. until the procession will leave for church.
